Mobile Meals of Chippewa Falls has been providing a balanced noon meal to residents of the city since 1971. The hot, nutritious meals are available for lunch Monday through Friday not including holidays. They are delivered by volunteer drivers who donate their time and energy to this program. There is a small $5.00 fee that is charged for the meal. For those people that cannot afford the fee, there are some government assistance programs available to help. Check with the Chippewa County Age and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) to determine eligibility or use the Contact Us form to check on other options.
Who is eligible:
Any adult person, regardless of race, creed, color or age;
1. Who is unable to prepare his/her own meals because of illness, disability, infirmity or handicap.
2. Who finds it difficult or impossible to do shopping.
3. Who lacks cooking facilities or who cannot frequent restaurants.
We provide a variety of meals to accommodate different diets. Each food container is marked with the recipient’s name, address and diet restriction (if applicable). It is important to us that the correct meal gets delivered to each parson.
The meals are prepared by the kitchen staff of Dove Healthcare - Rutledge Home according to the recipients dietary request. Each meal is well balanced and provides meat, vegetable, starch (potato, etc) bread, butter, salad, fruit, desert and milk. Some special diets are available (like diabetic and low salt). Please use our Contact Us page to inquire if your diet needs can be accommodated.
The Mobile Meals program also serves as a daily check to make sure "all is well". It also provides a friendly smile and a chance to connect with the outside world for those people who are house bound.
Mobile Meals is dependent upon contributions, donations and participant fees. We are grateful to all those who offer their time, money and energy to make this program a success.
